Services

We’re pleased to offer the following compassionate veterinary services at Oates Veterinary Clinic

Our Services

Wellness and Preventive Medicine

Wellness examinations are the most crucial part of preventative healthcare for pets in all life stages, from puppies and kittens to senior pets. They allow us to detect changes such as weight gain or loss, dental disease, and other subtle differences you may not notice at home.

We also provide preventative healthcare, which includes the prevention of common parasitic infections in cats and dogs. Not only can we prevent heartworms with preventive medications, but we can prevent a variety of internal and external parasites too.

Anesthesia monitoring equipment

Many pet owners worry about putting their beloved companion under anesthesia, whether for elective or life-saving surgery. In order to keep your pet safe, our entire team is dedicated to your furry friend’s health and safety. We use a variety of monitoring devices to keep a close eye on your pet and ensure their anesthetic event is as safe as possible. We use a variety of anesthetic monitoring devices including a Cardell Veterinary Monitor, pulse ox, apnea monitor, and esophageal stethoscope.

Laser Therapy

We’re pleased to offer laser therapy as part of our comprehensive suite of services. The laser uses painless waves of light to treat areas of the body that are experiencing pain or have suffered trauma. This triggers a natural response without the need for medication or other invasive measures. As a result, your loved one can enjoy decreased pain, enhanced mobility, and shorter recovery periods.

Radiology and Ultrasound

Oates Veterinary Clinic offers full-service digital radiography laboratory and radiology services for your pet’s diagnostics. Like many procedures, an X-Ray can be stressful for a pet and a pet parent, but our specialists can answer any questions or concerns you may have before the procedure is done.

Geriatric Care

Older pets often have multiple chronic diseases, trouble with weight loss or gain, chronic pain, mobility problems, or cognitive issues and need medications and other specialized support or care. We help address your pet’s changing needs and balancing treatments for disease symptoms and progression.

Pharmacy

Our on-site pharmacy carries a large selection of quality medications from reliable manufacturers. In addition to our many holistic medications, supplements and preventatives, and prescription diets, we can also have select medications compounded in a form or flavor your pet will like.

We’re also proud to offer our clients an online pharmacy as well. To access it, click here.

Grooming

When you trust our animal hospital with grooming services, you can always expect your pet to receive quality, compassionate care. Our clinic is proud to offer a wide range of grooming services to keep your pet looking and feeling his/her best.

Microchipping

A microchip is about the size and shape of a grain of rice and is placed underneath your pet’s skin between the shoulder blades. Microchip implantation takes only a few minutes and is very safe. Each microchip is unique and carries vital information about your pet—including your name, address, and contact information.

Surgery

Our surgical services include routine small animal medical and surgical services such as spays and neuters. We also provide advanced surgical procedures, elective surgeries, and orthopedics. Surgical lasers are available for both routine and advanced procedures.

Dental Care

We are proud that we have the most up-to-date ultrasonic scaler that allows for the safest cleaning of dental calculus without damaging the teeth and a new top-of-the-line, high-speed dental drill for efficient and safe extraction of teeth. We are often able to see undetected abscesses, broken teeth, resorbed roots, retained roots, and more, thanks to dental radiographs.

Diagnostics

Diagnostic tools allow our experienced doctors to get a glimpse below the surface of the skin and learn what’s happening inside your pet’s body so we can quickly and accurately diagnose and treat whatever is ailing them, improving the chances of a positive outcome. We start with a thorough physical exam, and then we turn to technology to help us further evaluate our patients’ health. From routine blood work to digital radiology, we’re well-equipped and fully prepared to handle even the most challenging cases.

Nutritional Counseling

Nutrition plays a critical role in the overall health and well-being of your pet. Your pet’s nutritional needs change with age and activity level. Specially formulated diets can help manage various medical conditions like kidney disease, diabetes, and heart disease. Work closely with your veterinarian to find the right food and the proper intake amount for your pet. Every pet is unique, and the goal is to find what works best for each individual pet.

Euthanasia

We understand the emotions surrounding the end-of-life decisions for your pet and are here to help. Our cremation services are handled in-house. We also offer courtesy clay paw prints for interested owners. Arrangements are made through our clinic, so we can continue to ensure your pet receives the utmost care and respect. We also want to ensure that you receive the assistance you need during this process.

Boarding

Your pet will enjoy comfortable surroundings, regular meals, and as much interaction with our staff as he or she wants. We can make certain your pet gets his daily medications or any other specialized care they may require. If the unexpected occurs, our veterinarian can make an immediate diagnosis and administer prompt, effective treatment.
